How to Treat Hemorrhoids during Pregnancy

Hemorrhoids are a pretty nasty condition in the first place. Hemorrhoids during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester, can make any mom-to-be miserable and cranky.

There are many hemorrhoid treatments in the market and quite a few home hemorrhoid treatments available, but pregnant women need to be extremely careful when using medication or any herbs.

The best way to treat (and prevent) hemorrhoids during pregnancy is to exercise. Yeah, I know that you would much rather lay on sofa and eat chips (been there done that), but unless you want this nasty thing in your butt, you need to move.

You don’t have to exhaust yourself my doing complicated and long exercises. Simple walk will do, even walk in the mall.

Another way to treat hemorrhoids during pregnancy is to apply aloe Vera juice on the affected area. Aloe Vera reduces swelling, pain and redness. You can get it in a health store or online. Try this organic aloe vera juice:

Another thing you need to do is to eat plenty of, blackberries, blueberries, cherries currant and drink pomegranate juice. These are very good to eat in the first place, because they will not only help your hemorrhoids, but improve your health.

Also, you can take warm sitz baths several times daily for 10 minutes or so. Remember, that they should be warm, not hot. Hot baths are NOT recommended to anyone who is pregnant.

Do not sit on a toilet longer than necessary. Even if it is the only quiet place in the house, don’t do it. Sitting will make your hemorrhoids much worse. Also, when wiping, be very gentle. Get some moisture wipes with which hazel (you can get a store brand, they work just as well.)

Try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Again, these are good for you and your baby and they will help you prevent constipation, which is one of the reasons for hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy is not fun, and unfortunately it is hard to prevent. Try to move a lot, eat well and hopefully, if you do get it, it will be minor and will not take your joyful pregnant mood away.
