Hi Angie,

Sorry you have no good results from NAET.
Aidan didn't get antibiotics as a baby (I am originally from Europe were antibiotics are getting prescribed only when they are absolutely necessary, especially for the kids, so we try to kick any illness naturally), but when I was pregnant with him I was diagnosed with Strep B positive and was given antibiotics during delivery, so he probably got exposed to some.
Did you ask your practitioners to test and clear her from Rotavirus vaccine? It could be done. It wouldn't surprise me that these could be the causes.
We didn't do this particular vaccine, but Aiden's problems started immediately after his 2 months shots. It could be a coincidence, but because it happened so rapidly and because he had no issue until these vaccines were done, they may be the ones to blame. I am not saying all vaccines are evil, but the load of vaccines they do before kids immunity system has time to mature is too much for some kids. We have a new pediatrician now who is very knowledgeable (considered to be the best in our area) and she actually suggested that it was a good idea to space out the vaccines if we decide to continue vaccinating. That's what we've been doing with Aidan and our new baby. So far so good.

My daughter went through the same course as your son. Very allergic to eggs and dairy, tried NAET at 2 different offices and still no result. Glad it worked for you . I have a question. Did Aidan receive any antibiotics under the age of 6 months? And did you vaccinate with Rotavirus?
I believe these 2 factors played a role in my daughter's allergies. Thanks

Hi Nari,

thanks for replying. Yes we did a couple of combinations with dairy for instance but maybe not enough? Antoher thing we did was individual components of milk mix. How would the practioner know which combinations to try? I guess a bit of experience and intuition. He was cleared for salicylates for instance, and last night he reacted badly to avocado ( a very high salicylate), a rash 4 night wakings with a stiff cramping stomach. He has not been cleared for just avocado on as an individual food though. I am wondering if it needs to get down to individual foods, and do it on that basis.
I guess most eventually grow out of it but I am in the camp of actively try to support his immune system and digestive system until that happens :) Its a shame my NAET practioner is reluctant to treat him further. She is concerned that he is still on reflux medication.

Hi Eloise,
Thank you for the updates. I really appreciate you coming back and sharing your experience.
Glad it worked at least a little bit. I remember when Aiden was treated (and got) cleared for dairy, meaning he passed the treatment, he was still getting reactions after eating it. Our NAET practitioner started checking and treating him for dairy with other components, such as dairy+certain vitamins, etc. I was wondering if your doctor tried it.

Anyway, I hope he grows out of it as his naturopath and pediatrician suggested.

Hi Nati,

Its Eloise here again, we last spoke in November. In March this year we completed the NAET treatments for my son. He is now 16 months, he would have been 1 years old at the end of his treatements. He was still on a fairly restricted diet so it was hard ot tell if the treatment has really cleared anything for him.

His major areas of concern are wheat, dairy and salicylates. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he is still reacting to dairy, wheat and salicylates. He would have long night wakings and very sore tummy, fallign asleep and wakign up many times. He had little rashes and his reflux really flared up... if I gave any of these in small quanitites... it would take a few days to build up fo rthe wheat and dairy - on crust of toast a day for 5 days, as for the dairy one table spoon of buffalo yoghurt a day for a few days.

He is currently on stmoach acid inhibiting mdeication for his reflux, - he always has been. Our NAET practioner said that the medication might not the problem, however he is apparantly "cleared" of everything.

I do feel the treatments helps raise his tolerance however has not cured his food intolerances. My naturopath who is very knowledgeable suggested that whilst his immune system is stronger from NAET it cannot account for his body being unable to clear out txoins from food and the environment and that it is a waiting game till he develeops all the enzymes he needs for digestion and detoxifcation - apparantly in some kids they don;t fully develop till 7 years old. My Paediatrician has no idea and just says " they grow out of it and we don;t know why".

Anyway, thought I would share my experience. My NAET practioner thinks she has done she can for him at the moment.

I never re-ran, even though I wanted to (just out of curiosity). But last time we did it (when he was still allergic) even after the insurance coverage we had to pay $400. I decided that satisfying my curiosity wasn't worth this much. ;)

thanks for your reply. I asked about breastmilk today and she thought it was a good idea, so I will take some along to the next appointment for testing.

So apparanty we are "cleared" for wheat/grains. It seems hard to believe, it an desperate for it to be true but don't want to get my hopes too high! I am due to introduce wheat in my diet soon, will let you know how we get on! It will take two weeks to do the full intro, trially oats first.

We will be clearing salicylates next week which is my LO's biggest problem area. Will let you know how that goes too!

Hi Eloise,

Our doc didn't follow the "order" completely. I think it is fine as far as it is working. She probably knows you/your child better and knows what you need. After clearing 6 or 7 basic groups (I don't remember exactly) our doctor was asking what we would prefer to do next. We also were desperate to clear certain things. I wouldn't worry about it.

As far as breastmilk goes, I suggest that you ask her. Maybe she thinks it is not necessary since your kid is obviously allergic to other things and you are clearing them anyway. Our doctor started with breastmilk, because it was pretty much the only thing Aidan was having at the beginning of the treatment. We didn't start solid foods with him until he was almost 10 months old. We would have saved lots of money if it turned out that it was just my breastmilk causing the problems. :)

Hi

Well we have nearly cleared the major groups/foods in the NEAT treatment. I have one small concern that my practicioner may be deviating from the protocol /order for treatment.

In the moajor groups, we have cleared vitamin B, sugar, calcium & lactose together, grains. We still have acid left to do.

The practicioner has suggested that we can jump mow to salicylates since we are so desperate to clear those, and it has no consequence on not doing that acid yet. I hope that is right!

An no mention of testing/doing my breastmilk . She has been trained by the Namburipad and is listed on the website you mentioned.

Can you comment?

thanks alot!

Well you were right, he was still "cleared" for his first one Vitamin B when I went back. Gee, 15-17! We still have so many sessions to go then!

I am not sure if I can do all the diet stuff as I am already on a very restricted diet as he reacts to alot of things i eat anyway dairy/soy/salicylates/preservatives/additives/egg/glutamates/wheat/ ......

He did test positive to grain so it will be interesting to see if I can eat wheat again after we "clear" the grains.

thanks for the link x

Hi,

As far as eating a piece of celery, I THINK you should be fine. When we were treating Aidan or corn, he ate a piece of corn puff of the floor (gross , I know), but he still was cleared.

It took us about 15-17sessions initially. Then we had to come back because one morning he woke up from a nap all covered in hives. We didn't try any new foods, so our doctor told me to bring his sheets and laundry detergent. we did and he appeared to be allergic or the sheet-detergent combo. He was cleared for that and didn't have problems ever since.

The other blog that I found when I was looking for testimonies myself was this one: http://pluckymama.wordpress.com/2007/11/01/naet-allergy-experience/

There are quite a few comments.

As far as dairy goes, we didn't give it to him for awhile. It was me eating stuff that was causing him harm in the beginning (I was nursing him for awhile).

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

It took us about 15-17sessions initially. Then we had to come back because one morning he woke up from a nap all covered in hives. We didn’t try any new foods, so our doctor told me to bring his sheets and laundry detergent. we did and he appeared to be allergic or the sheet-detergent combo. He was cleared for that and didn’t have problems ever since.

The other blog that I found when I was looking for testimonies myself was this one: http://pluckymama.wordpress.com/2007/11/01/naet-allergy-experience/

There are quite a few comments.

As far as dairy goes, we didn’t give it to him for awhile. It was me eating stuff that was causing him harm in the beginning (I was nursing him for awhile).

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Hi

Just read your blog. Thank you for writing it. What an inspirational story. I have just started NAET for my 7 month old son who has multiple food intolerances and reflux. I am on an elimination diet and through food challenge I do know what some of hs intolerances are. So far the practioner started on the 10 basic groups and I think he reacted to 4 of them. She cleared Vit B today, but I am accidentally ate a little peice of celery without thinking! Doh! I wonder if he will be still cleared nexttime we go!

Anyway, I wanted to ask, how many sessions did it take for your sons treatment to be complete?

Are there any other blogs or websites you can point me to?

What happened with the dairy? Why couldn't your son eat dairy until 1? Our paediatrician has recommended that he not eat dairy till 1 due to his intolerances.

Veronica, looks like nbcnews removed the video. I can't find it either. :(
Oh well, it was a good one. Here are some "NAET in the news" "youtube videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plgX1tqiPV4

Good luck tomorrow. I really hope it works out for you. $1500 up front is insane!!!! Especially considering the fact that you may not need that many treatments.

Definitely keep me posted.

Hi there,
I tried to click on the link to NAET on NBC news but it said the page didn't exist. I searched their site for both NAET and it spelled out, but no luck. Would you please post the url or another link for me to look at? I did a version of NAET called ASERT. It worked for 2 weeks, then when they used me as a surrogate to treat my daughter, it messed my treatment up and I'm back to having allergies. I completely agree with you about finding the right doctor. I truly feel the procedure is beneficial, but my current doctor just won't look into any alternative ways of treatment since the initial one failed. I've asked if he would call the doctor who trained him to get another perspective but he refused to do so. So I have found another practitioner who is on Dr. Nambudripad's list and I have an appointment for Friday. I wish I had known about this practitioner first. He's much less expensive and seems very knowledgable and willing to discuss my treatments upfront. The first doctor I had to pay ALL UP FRONT and it was over $1,500. This second practitioner is only $75 for the initial treatment and you pay as you go.

I'll keep you posted!

She is now anaphylatic and eczema has improved since removing salycylates from her diet. We have found a NAET practioner in Geelong and will start NAET soon. We are just hoping that we get good results like you. Crystal. p.s Who was the chiropractor u saw?
