Some Non-Organic Produce Is Actually Not Bad.

It is not a secret for anybody that organic fruits and vegetables have more health benefits than conventionally grown ones. Unless you join a co-op or shop at local farms, they can be very expensive. If you are concerned with costs, here is the good news: some non-organic produce are actually not that bad.

According to the Shopper’s Guide to Pesticide and Produce, these 14 foods have relatively low pesticide levels and therefore are OK to buy non-organic.

They are:
Banana
Kiwi
Mango
Pineapple
Avocado
Onion
Eggplant
Broccoli
Frozen Sweet Peas
Cabbage
Asparagus
Frozen sweet corn
Papaya
Watermelon

Use this as a cheat sheet next time you go shopping.

It is good to know, because organic produce can get expensive, but I always say to myself that cancer and other chronic deseases are more expensive, so we try to buy organic whenever we have the opportunity.
