“Organic” Celebrities: Julia Roberts
One of the greatest American actresses and a former fashion model, Julia Roberts, is one of many celebrities who follow the organic and “green” trends.
In 2007 Julia and her family moved to a new house, loaded up with solar panels. Apparently, her home was built with wood taken from sustainable forests and recycled tiles.
Paparazzi often catch Roberts with shopping carts full of organic foods and carrying organic recyclable bags.
When her twins were little, Roberts claimed to use only non-toxic and chlorine free diapers by gDiapers. Every material used to make gDiapers is absorbed back into the earth without any negative effect. The diapers, which are flushable, supposedly cut down on the 50 million disposable diapers, which do not decompose for 50 years or so.
There is no need to remind anyone how filthy rich Julia is. No doubt she can afford to be as “green” as one could possibly be. But we must give her credit for using her celebrity status to promote healthier living rather than pre-marital sex, partying and drugs.
Recently Julia Roberts had an interview in Variety Magazine, where she said that she teaches her kids to grow food in their organic garden. Her kids eat kale instead of French fries and they grow it themselves. How cool is that! Roberts says she thinks it is important to teach children where food comes from. “They are more inclined to eat what they are growing, because they are so proud of it.”
I don’t know about you but Julia just scored another point for me. Yes, she is rich, but instead of partying, shopping, divorcing and getting in trouble, she is being a super woman, who is not only a great mother for her children, but also a responsible inhabitant of the earth.
Way to go, Julia!
