Four Reasons Why You Need to Drink Organic Coffee

If you are addicted to coffee like me, there is no need to promise yourself to completely quit this habit. Drinking coffee in moderate amounts has certain health benefits, as far as you buy the best coffees available, which are, of course, organic.

Here are the main reasons why you should switch to organic coffee, if you haven’t already.

1.    Organic coffee has plenty of vitamins, nutrients and is full of antioxidants. Organic grown coffees, as opposed to conventionally grown don’t contain any chemicals or pesticides The best yet are organic coffees, which come from African plantations. They are grown in nutrient-rich soils, which add to its nutrient value. Conventionally grown coffee is grown with the use of fertilizers and pesticides, which are harmful for our health and the environment.

2.    Organic coffee may help you lose weight. They satisfy hunger and help your body get rid of toxins. Coffee drinks are not intended to replace your nutrition, but they may quickly fill your stomach, boost your energy and help you stay away from unhealthy snacks between meals.

3.    If you like decaf, remember that conventional coffees are decaffeinated with chemicals such as ethyl acetate and methylene chloride. If you decide to buy conventional decaffeinated anyway, make sure it says on the label that it is “naturally decafinated”. It means that ethyl acetate is derived from fruits or vegetables. Coffees which are labeled as ‘Swiss water processed” are also OK.

4.    Organic coffee tastes better. I know that it is all subjective, but naturally-flavored coffees are always more appealing to me than pesticide-flavored.

Above said, there is probably no need to refuse a cup of coffee here and there at a restaurant or coffee shops, as there is no need to make a sour face every time your friends offer you a cup of coffee in their house. Also there is no need to bring your organic coffee every time you visit friends and family, although it might not be a bad idea, because if they try it, they will probably switch to it too.

But if you are a heavy coffee drinker, make your habit a healthy one. Drink organic.

Here is a very good organic coffee you may want to try: Café Altura Organic Coffee, Biodynamic French Roast, Whole Bean, 32-Ounce Bag

As far as I know coffee doesn’t contain aluminum, but because some coffee pots contain it, it may end up in your coffee as well. Here is a good discussion on the subject: http://www.healthpost.ca/forums/healthpost-ca/general-chat/548-aluminum-health-risks-coffee-pot.html

    Hope this helps.
