Is Organic Food Safer and Healthier for Children?
Organic foods are much safer for children to consume, the researchers have recently found. Ideally, everyone should eat organic, but if you cannot afford it for the entire family, at least buy organic food for your kids.
Researchers found out that due to their smaller sizes and faster metabolism, children are much more susceptible to chemicals, hormones and pesticides, found in non-organic foods. Since children are still growing and developing, these chemicals and toxins can do a lot of harm to them.
Medical doctors don’t like to admit these facts, but they also fail to explain increasing percentages of children’s allergies, asthma and a myriad of other diseases.
Organic food products not only are safer, but healthier as well. Organic foods are more nutritious; they have more vitamins and antioxidants. Organic meat and dairy also contain more minerals, which are beneficial for your and especially your children’s health.
Eating organic food helps the environment as well. More and more people are realizing that if we will not change the way we live, our earth is going to take revenge. We need to stop poisoning ourselves and the earth with chemicals and toxins. Earth is already polluted enough.
People who started buying organic usually never go back to non-organic food. They say (and I agree) that organic food tastes much better; that buying and eating it makes them feel emotionally and physically better.
There are ways to shop organic on a budget. Join co-ops, shop local organic farms, buy in bulk, search for coupons. I wrote about buying organic on a budget here. If you think it is too much hassle, think about your health. It is much less hassle to try to live healthy than spend time and money visiting doctors and swallowing pills.
