Organic Green Tea? Yes, Please

Probably every educated individual knows that chemicals and pesticides are harmful for our body. Every year scientists come up with more evidence on why we should try to avoid unnatural products and live as organically as we can. Astonishing cancer and obesity rates and increasing number of allergies raise caution and make people rethink what they eat, drink and use in everyday life.

One of the hottest products in the organic market is organic green tea. Green tea has been used for medicinal purposes in Asian countries for centuries and it has finally made its way to the U.S.

Organic green teas are grown without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. They are very rich in minerals, antioxidants and nutrients. Among other vitamins, green tea has high content of vitamin B, which as we know helps us to deal with stress. Due to high levels of antioxidants organic green tea can help reduce cancer, diabetes and arthritis risks as well as reduce the chances of a stroke.  Also, it is known to help lose extra pounds from our body and increase energy levels.

Organic green teas are usually available in health stores, in a number of grocery stores (usually in the organic section) and online. I like buying tea online, because you can not only purchase bagged tea, but also loose green tea in bulk, which saves quite a bit of money.

Researchers insist that you need to drink 3-5 cups of green tea a day to fully enjoy all its health benefits. They also claim that drinking 3-5 cups of tea helps lose 70 extra calories a day. If you don’t like how it tastes or are too lazy to brew green tea, retailers are now offering it in pills or capsules.

Because organic methods produce a lower yield of product, organic teas may be more expensive. However, it is usually a matter of cents or a couple of extra dollars. In my opinion, when it comes to your health, that’s a smart investment.

If you don’t know which tea to buy, try Organic Nuri tea. They are a great company and make delicious and healthy teas.

Another good store that we like to buy organic green tea from is IHealth. They have a good variety of different teas and the prices are great. My favorite are Organic ginger tea and organic Rose Hips teas. They cost only about $4 a box each.
