Drink Organic. Benefits of Organic Wine
To be honest, I have never thought of organic wine until just a few days ago when I saw an advertisement on the internet. It made me curious, so I did some research. Here is what I found.
In order to be labeled “organic”, organic wine has to be produced with organically grown grapes and be sulfite-free. It may have some naturally occurring sulfites, but the sulfite level must be really low.
Wines which contain sulfites, but are grown with organic grapes will have “made with organic grapes” or “made with organically grown grapes” labels on them.
Many people complain that wines which are sulfite-free or have very low levels of sulfites don’t taste good. However, there are others who say that it tastes delicious. It is a matter of personal preference and I haven’t tried sulfite-free wine, so I cannot give you my opinion yet.
From what I understand, sulfites are not that bad for you, so you can still enjoy a glass of red wine without feeling guilty. The benefits of red wine, organic or not, are outstanding and if you drink it in moderate amounts, it can significantly improve your health. Remember, that white wines have more sulfites than red, and European wines have more added sulfites than American ones.
If you are afraid that sulfite-free wine will not taste good, but still want healthier wine, buy wines, which are made with organic grapes. They don’t have any chemicals or preservatives (except sulfites), which is much better for your health, and they have richer and fuller flavor. Besides, they are easier to find than sulfite-free wines.

I tried sulfite-free wine and I didn’t like the taste, to be honest. but I do care what I put into my body, so I try to buy wine made with organic grapes. It usually tastes so much better than regular wine. My husband and I love good red wine.
Dana, thank you for your input. We like good wine too.
